Summer Sports/Children’s Intern
Primary Responsibility – Oversee, administrate, and direct the summer Sport’s Week of First Christian’s Sports Camp & be an assistant to our T Ball Committee.
Secondary Responsibility – to promote, serve and help grow the Children’s Ministry of the church family.
Accountable to – Senior Minister.
Approximate Length of Service – Mid May to first week in August, we are flexible on this. We envision a Sports Week at the end of July or first week of August when our T Ball league wraps up. (About 30 – hours per week)
Seek to build relationships on behalf of Christ with all people, especially the children and parents in our sports programs & graded worship ministry.
Work with T Ball Committee & be a presence at T Ball games & practices. (Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 5 to 8 pm )
Work with Christian Education team to promote Children’s Sunday Programming and explore ideas for future growth opportunities.
In cooperation with the Christian Education team, help organize children’s activities.
Examples – Friday night Family Pizza & Children’s Sports Movie for T-Ball families.
Participate, when possible, in the public worship services of the church.
Other Responsibilities: Might include the preparing and delivering of a sermon, communion meditation or teaching a Bible School class. We believe the intern will be gifted or have interest in other areas, beyond what we have stated here, so we want to be flexible to possibly add an area or two, so as to give you opportunity to grow and gain experience in those other areas as well.
Compensation – we will provide housing & some meals with families from the church. Salary of $300 – 350 per week, plus a free will offering at end of their time with us.
